Sladke skrbi at Rizoma

In September 2024, Barbara Kukovec performed Sladke skrbi (Sweet Worries) in the 300-year-old farmhouse at Rizoma.

The solo performance confronts the Slovenian countryside with landmark feminist performance works. Seven recipes, seven performances, one Slovenian countryside with its many problems, and fifty poticas — a commentary, a provocation, an honest attempt, and above all a beginning.

The rural setting of Rizoma provided an authentic backdrop for a work that draws directly on experiences of rural women's lives in Slovenia.
